The bodies of two men were recovered from the Nogales Wash Monday afternoon.
Workers first spotted the bodies while trying to repair the banks of the wash. The two bodies were floating in water that was up to 5 feet deep shortly after 2 p.m., said Flavio Gonzalez, head of the Nogales utilities department.
The bodies - both men - were found downstream between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., officials said.
Continuing rain southwest of Nogales, Sonora made more flooding possible, officials said.
The SENTRI lane reopened Monday . The lane, the Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection, is Customs and Border Protection's trusted-traveler program for approved frequent border-crossers. It allows members to use a designated commuter lane that is faster than normal lanes.
The Morley pedestrian entrance remained closed Monday afternoon. It first closed Saturday evening when heavy flooding on the Mexican side caused extensive damage to the opening.
In Saturday's flooding, U.S. customs officials working the vehicle entry lanes at the Nogales border crossing heard cries for help coming from flood-control washes that run underground. Three people were pulled to safety.
