McCain calls for increased border security

U.S. Sen. John McCain told a group of supporters Friday afternoon in Litchfield Park that he supports outfitting border patrol agents with surveillance technology used by the armed forces.

He said that there are remote, unsecured parts of the border that can only be properly guarded with the use of new and more advanced equipment. McCain will be visiting the border this weekend.

McCain also talked about his support of SB 1070, and said the law is a necessary step in securing the border and the safety of the citizens of Arizona. He said lawmakers boycotting the state because of the new law are “disgraceful,â€
