The Rev. Al Sharpton says he will challenge Arizona's new immigration bill in court and on the streets.

Sharpton is joining Lillian Rodriguez Lopez from the Hispanic Federation to announce a legal challenge to the bill.
They say activists are also prepared to commit civil disobedience to fight the Arizona immigration bill.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signed the bill Friday. It requires police to question people about their immigration status —
including asking for identification — if they suspect someone is in the country illegally.

The law will take effect in late July or early August.

When the unemployment rate in the African American community is so very high, why does he want to give away jobs to illegals, both those already here and the extra million or so that will sneak across the border as soon as word of a pending amnesty goes out.

I was wondering the same thing when I read the subject of this thread. It’s very counter-intuitive. He does seem to be more interested in self-promotion than in helping those he’s always defended. I hate a hypocrite as much as race baiters and illegal aliens.

That's easy to answer. Sharpton doesn't care about unemployment within the black community. If he did, he would be celebrating this bill.

The truth is, Sharpton will jump on any cause in which whitey is perceived to be the villian. You see, the illegal invaders and sharpton are on the same side here. The invaders are relying on racism to make their case and sharpton relies on racism to make his living.

A match made in heaven! No pun intended. But I believe this alliance hurts their cause because sharpton is a perceived racists and shakedown artist. It does not lend any credibility to their argument, not as if their argument had any credibility to begin with. IMHO....
