U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords renewed her call for the federal government to bring more National Guard troops to the U.S.-Mexico border in a speech this morning on the house floor.

Giffords told house colleagues she has already asked for more federal help three times to no avail, in her Wednesday morning speech that shows an increasing amount of frustration as it draws to an end.

Republican opponents have accused Giffords of not being tough enough on the border.

She says she asked for the fence March 30- three days after rancher Robert Krentz was killed, two weeks ago and last week.

"I ask again that the president immediately deploy the national guard," she said.

"Deployment of the National Guard is an essential first step in reassuring border residents of our commitment to their safety and security. The people that I represent do not believe that the fed gov has heard their pleas and they grow worse and worse every single day," she said.

I'm sorry but I've learned to question the motives of all hard-line illegal alien advocates. Ms. Giffords must be getting serious pressure from her constituents.

Giffords signed Border Violence Prevention Act

To authorize additional resources for the Department of Homeland Security to enhance security activities along the international border with Mexico. Expand border security operations along the southwest border, including the southbound inspection and investigation of vehicles, to reduce the potential for border violence; enhance border security; and prevent the illicit flow of arms and bulk cash across such southwest border; by appropriating $70,000,000 to:
increase southbound border security infrastructure and inspection capabilities at ports of entry located on the southwest border between the US and Mexico;
acquire and deploy at least two x-ray mobile inspection units to such southwest border;
acquire and deploy at least ten dual detection canine teams to such southwest border;
equip with license plate readers the outbound lanes at ports of entry located on such southwest border;
acquire and equip US Customs and Border Protection personnel with body armor;
take any other related actions to expand border security operations on such southwest border.
hire and deploy at least 100 additional US Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel to be assigned to Border Enforcement Security Taskforce (BEST) units involved in efforts to reduce southwest border violence over the number of such personnel so assigned as of the date of the enactment of this Act;
improve existing Border Enforcement Security Taskforce facilities and acquire new space for Border Enforcement Security Taskforce units along such southwest border locations; and
increase resources and personnel for Operation Armas Cruzadas over the resources obligated and personnel so assigned as of the date of the enactment of this Act

Her career Immigration Report Card grade at NumbersUSA is a D+. She is definitely a strong amnesty supporter. With that said, I guess it's possible, unusual, but possible, to be a strong supporter of border security and illegal alien amnesty. Sorry, all amnesty supporters are suspect on anything concerning illegal immigration in my book.

Regardless of her position on border security, she is still a strong amnesty supporter. That alone is enough for me to want her fired.

I guess she's reading the polls like everyone else. All these socialist globalist traitors are going to be singing our tune and dancing our jig now. Oh yes sirree. Pew Center poll, 73% support local and state law enforcement asking for documents proving you're in the state legally.
