A lot of this stuff is redundant but i feel like this law that our reps have passed needs to be followed closely as it may serve as a model for other states

A lack of funding for an immigration reform bill signed into law this week has some state officials worried about who will pay to enforce it.

Many are concerned about where local law enforcement agencies will find the money and jail space to catch and hold illegal immigrants. Others note the bill is not set to go into effect until November, giving those affected by the law plenty of time to make changes.


Meanwhile, state colleges and universities wonder what the new law will mean for them.

Schools raise concerns
The law is at odds with the mission of colleges to help students succeed, one higher education administrator said. Still, Oklahoma City Community College must follow the law as defined, said Felix Aquino, vice president of academic affairs.

"OCCC's basic mission is the inclusion of all students with a willingness to learn the opportunity for higher education,â€
