Admittance of illegal alien students (regardless of how they pay their tuition) becomes a de facto waiver of legal requirements for foreign nationals seeking to study in the U.S. That is it creates a double-standard because foreign nationals who gain admittance must also comply with federal immigration laws and obtain a student visa PRIOR to entry into the U.S. but ILLEGAL ALIENS currently in the U.S. are waived right in...how fair is that? It is NOT.
Illegal aliens have every right and opportunity to study in their home countries and have full access to all types of scholarships, loan and grant programs there. Mexican public universities like the UNAM are FREE for MExican nationals ...so these kids need to stop whining. If they've been here since they were very young, their parents are the ones that screwed up by not trying to get the children's status fixed or obtain the necessary paperwork for admittance and transfer to a college/university in their nation of origin. That's not a problem for AMERICAN families to solve for them. The Consulates should be disseminating the information regarding admissions, and paperwork necessary to enroll in the public institutions in the nation of origin. Why aren't they doing that? Don't they want their "best and brightest" to return and continue their education? Why is that our problem?
