U.S. Border Patrol Weekly Blotter (09/14/2011)

Border Patrol agents seized more than 16,148 pounds of marijuana. Agents arrested ten criminal aliens and eight gang members. There were six rocking incidents.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Ocotillo, California. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for sex with a minor and had been previously removed from the United States.


El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Niland, California. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Mara Salvatrucha 13 (MS-13) gang. Records checks revealed the subject had a criminal history and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Casa Grande, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the state of Indiana for child molestation and had been previously removed from the United States.

Laredo Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 2,431 pounds of marijuana, a utility truck, and arrested a United States Citizen (USC) near Laredo, Texas. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle and a subsequent search by agents uncovered the marijuana.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,123 pounds of marijuana on the banks of the Rio Grande River near Los Ebanos, Texas.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Naco, Arizona. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Vatos Locos gang. Records checks revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,202 pounds of marijuana, a tractor-trailer, and arrested a national of Cuba at the traffic checkpoint near Falfurrias, Texas. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle and a scan using non-intrusive inspection technology revealed anomalies within the trailer. A subsequent search by agents uncovered the marijuana.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,700 pounds of marijuana and a sport utility vehicle near Hereford, Arizona. The vehicle had been reported stolen.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 95 pounds of marijuana, a pickup truck, and arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Willcox, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,448 pounds of marijuana, a tractor-trailer, and arrested a USC at the traffic checkpoint near Falfurrias, Texas. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle and a subsequent search by agents uncovered the marijuana.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,056 pounds of marijuana, a tractor-trailer, and arrested a USC at the traffic checkpoint near Kingsville, Texas. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle and a subsequent search by agents uncovered the marijuana.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Pisinemo, Arizona. During processing, the subject was identified as a member of the Sureño gang who had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,819 pounds of marijuana and recovered a stolen pickup truck near Kaka, Arizona. Agents located the abandoned truck containing the marijuana with the assistance of a CBP Office of Air and Marine air asset.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. Records checks revealed the subject had prior convictions for a sex offense and failure to register as a sex offender. The subject had also been previously removed from the United States.


El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents rescued and arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near El Paso, Texas. The subject fell into distress in the Leon Spillway and agents utilized a rescue throw device to pull him to safety.


Laredo Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 807 alprazolam pills, 90 diazepam pills, a .40 caliber handgun, and arrested two USCs at the traffic checkpoint near Laredo, Texas. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle and a subsequent search by agents uncovered the contraband.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Brownsville, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for fondling a child and has been previously removed from the United States.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador near Havana, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the state of North Carolina for a sex offense and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,220 pounds of marijuana near Ajo, Arizona. The marijuana was found abandoned in the desert.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,853 pounds of marijuana and recovered a stolen pickup truck near Pia Oik, Arizona. The marijuana was found in the abandoned truck.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Pia Oik, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the state of Delaware for a sex offense and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,780 pounds of marijuana and recovered a stolen sport utility vehicle near Vekol Valley, Arizona. Agents encountered the vehicle in a remote area and upon seeing the agents; the driver abandoned the vehicle and absconded.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Naco, Arizona. During processing, the subject was identified as a member of the La Raza gang who had been previously removed from the United States.

Laredo Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador near Laredo, Texas. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the 18th Street gang. Records checks revealed the subject had a criminal history and had been previously removed from the United States.


Marfa Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 421 pounds of marijuana, a tractor-trailer, a handgun, and arrested two USCs at the traffic checkpoint near Sierra Blanca, Texas. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle and a subsequent search by agents uncovered the marijuana and the weapon.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Rockport, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the state of Texas for indecency with a child and had been previously removed from the United States.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Hidalgo, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject was a convicted sex offender and had been previously removed from the United States.
