GOP: Only legal residents should be counted

WASHINGTON — The 2008 Republican platform, in language that is hostile to illegal immigrants, says only those legally residing in the United States should be counted in the next census.

“The integrity of the 2010 census, proportioning congressional representation among the states, must be preserved,â€

It should be LEGAL residents.....but I have to admit I want everyone counted so they can put this 12 million illegals to rest once and for all and get an actual count, so we aren't dancing around about the severity of this.

My husband and I just had a long talk on this. He feels it should only be CITIZENS who are counted because we are the ones who have the LEGAL RIGHT TO VOTE.

I can't believe something like this is even an issue! Of course only citizens should be counted!

Whoa....what a difference it would make in my town. Officially we have around 91,000. Late last year one of our state reps. shared that the state of Illinois fact sheet estimates that Wkgn. has 62,000 illegal aliens living here.

What that means to our schools, housing stock... Last year the school report card stated that 66% of the kindergartners qualified for language assistance.
