Some of us in the Discussion forum decided during this "lull" to take on some news topics that were important and I chose the Mexican Truckers coming across our borders, so we'll be posting things here (at least I think this is where we should post them). If you want to get involved in some of this go check out the thread FedUpDeb started.

Outstanding idea, FedUpDeb!!

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) plan to open the U.S. border with Mexico to a select group of Mexico-based motor carriers as part of a pilot or demonstration program. Section 350 of the 2002 DOT Appropriations Act requires them to assure trucks and drivers from Mexico will meet U.S. safety standards and not endanger the U.S. population while traveling on our highways.

Let them know the DOT has NOT met this requirement and you are against this program.

You can:

- Post comments on the Federal Register
- Encourage friends and family to do the same
- Write a letter to your local newspaper editor

Take Action NOW!
Contact your representative in the U.S House and ask them to join in signing a letter against the program. Call the U.S. Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121, provide the operator with your home zip code and they will connect you with the office of your elected representative.
