2 held in kidnapping; one claims Zeta ties

Police on Sunday arrested two kidnapping suspects, including one who authorities say claimed to be a member of the Zetas, a paramilitary group for a Mexican drug cartel.

Miguel Angel Espinal, 26, and Javier Vela Sanchez, 36, are accused of kidnapping a man outside a Buckner Terrace apartment complex. They are being held on aggravated kidnapping charges. Bail is set at $25,000 for each.

According to a police report, a 37-year-old man was walking in the complex near Grove Hill Memorial Park Cemetery about 4 a.m. when two men approached him. The men told him they wanted to know where a former girlfriend and her new boyfriend lived. When the victim said he knew them, the men forced him into their pickup truck and beat him until he told them where they lived.

At the former girlfriend's house, one of the men got out of the truck with a gun and yelled, "Don't mess with me, I am a Zeta." The woman called police.

Officers later located the truck and arrested Espinal and Sanchez during a traffic stop.

Ahhh! Good ole Pleasant Grove. Why does this not surprise me? I feel sorry for the black people that were attempting to clean up Pleasant Grove neighborhoods about a decade ago. The illegals took over and made it worse than it was before. The same thing happened to Forest Hill, a once largely black and elderly community. They worked together to clean up the community, and raised money for a community center. The illegals took over in no time and destroyed the community. Now, the community center is a hot spot for illegal gang activity.
