Congressmen Recieve Awards from La Raza(NCLR)

I plucked this off the official La Raza(NCLR) site.

First I want to point out that you do not have to accept an award based on principle. Just because someone recognizes you does not mean you have to accept. Each of the following appear to have accepted.

Considering Kennedy and McCain are both on this list, it is safe to assume the others are also in La Raza's hip pocket. We can consider these fellows a total loss. All are active and current members of Congress with the exception of Representative Robert Menendez (D-NJ) Vacancy.

    2006 NCLR CAPITAL AWARDS
The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) Capital Awards is an annual gala event that brings together more than 800 elected and appointed officials, Hispanic leaders, community activists, executives from Fortune 500 companies, philanthropic leaders, and scholars to honor members of Congress from both sides of the aisle for their outstanding support of public policies that are vital to Hispanic Americans. In addition to the Capital Award, the Public Service Award honors others outside of Washington who courageously and tirelessly advocate on behalf of the Latino community. The NCLR Capital Awards is the premier Hispanic event in Washington, DC, providing an opportunity for sponsors to make contact with top policy- and decision-makers who work to improve the lives of Hispanic Americans.

    2006 NCLR Capital Award Awardees
Both voted in favor of illegal immigration.

Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) Voted YEA to S2611 (wrong answer)
NCLR is honoring Senator Harkin for his consistent support of NCLR’s programs and mission to improve opportunities for Hispanic Americans. NCLR recognizes his leadership in endorsing legislation that grants immigrant families access to nutrition programs, including child nutrition and the Food Stamp Program. These vital programs help children access healthy meals during school hours and ensure that the most vulnerable families, including farmworker families, are able to put food on their tables.

U.S. House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) Voted NO to HR4437 (wrong answer)
NCLR is honoring U.S. House Majority Leader John Boehner, in his role as Chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Education and the Workforce Committee, for his demonstrated leadership in addressing important Latino education issues. NCLR recognizes his efforts to support increased access to Head Start and child nutrition programs for farmworkers and limited-English-proficient children and families.

    Past Capital Award recipients include:
    How they voted on HR4437
Representative Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Vacancy NO
Representative James R. Walsh (R-NY), YEA
    Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), NO
Senator Chris Cannon (R-UT), YEA (Is a Representative not a Senator.)
    Should have voted yes!

    How they voted on S2611
    Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT), YEA
    Senator Richard Lugar (R-IN), YEA
    Senator Olympia Snowe (R-ME), YEA
    Senator John McCain (R-AZ), YEA
and Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA) YEA
    Should have voted no!

LR's boys in the Senate are really loyal.

    It's time for term limits!!!!!!

    crazybird,
We have to clean house first, then get term limits. Do you think Ted Kennedy would vote for term limits.

    curiouspat,
    feel the same way.

This is scarry stuff if you really start thinking about it. Those people in the streets are pulling the stings of the puppets.

I wouldn't get too worried about the La Raza crowd contolling the congressmen. In the scheme of things they're really inconsequential. LaRaza happens to be serving Congress' purposes for the time being. As evidenced by the Senate and U.S. House Majority Leader John Boehners' vote. The Democrats and Rockefeller Republicans are serving their masters - the Globalists- Big Energy- (try reading the Energy Policy Act- both my Democrat Senators voted for it) - and the CFR.

We really need to consider who our Congressmen are in bed with because the pillow talk effects all of us. I feel like I'm paying for their call girls.

Our elected representatives should not be receiving 'awards (bribes)' form any groups. Their rewards are their paid salaries, and staying in the office they enjoy. Other rewards must be viewed as flattery with a motive.
We are NOT a nation of immigrants!
