A man wanted in Mexico for the killings of two police officers has been arrested in Buckeye.

Deputy U.S. marshals and officers from Immigration and Customs Enforcement captured Heraclio Guevara-Juarez, 31, Wednesday afternoon in the area of Palo Verde and Buckeye Roads.

Guevara-Juarez, a Mexican national, is wanted in Zacatecas, Mexico, for three counts of armed robbery, two counts of homicide and escape.

Guevara-Juarez was arrested in Mexico in 2005 and admitted committing numerous armed robberies, the U.S. marshal's office in Phoenix said.

He escaped from custody and killed two police officers before allegedly coming to the United States to hide. During the course of the fugitive investigation, deputies determined that Guevara-Juarez had assumed the identity of one of his family members in Mexico. He had obtained work and was living at a large dairy farm in Buckeye when he was arrested.

Guevara-Juarez, who had been deported from the U.S. six times previously, voluntarily returned to Mexico and was turned over to Mexican police at the Nogales Port of Entry, the marshal's office said.
