    - Alan Bersin's long resume will grow longer still if, as reportedly expected in coming days, President Barack Obama nominates him to serve as commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

    This high-profile position would represent a significant promotion from Bersin's current post as assistant Homeland Security secretary and special representative for border affairs, aka “border czar.â€

    When Bersin was the Federal Prosecutor for the Southern California District he was the first federal prosecutor to prosecute re-entry after deportation as a felony. He made this decision on his own and the higher ups let it stand.

    This guy sounds like he knows what he is doing, where Napolitano is so wishy-washy about everything. But then, unfortunately, he will have to answer to Napolitano.

    I believe that Bresin was quoted a couple of weeks ago in an article on this site claiming there was NO spill over violence on the Border.
