What a view it must be from the editorial writer's lofty podium, that he can see the whole immigration picture denied to us peons, and write of which he sees ["Big Mama Manassas," Jan. 11].

The editorial lashes out at the city of Manassas for attempting to deal with illegal immigration by passing occupancy laws restricting multiple families from crowding into residential neighborhoods.

Let me try to explain the view from here for the teeming masses, where most of us live.

We see a never-ending stream of illegals swelling our neighborhoods, schools, hospitals, prisons, and workplaces, with no intention of assimilating.

No, these are not your mom-and-pop immigrants of years ago, studying English at night and becoming citizens according to the law.

These 30 million intruders are agents of a foreign, corrupt government attempting to bleed us until we cannot support our own way of life.

Mexico's President Fox encourages this invasion with the help of our dysfunctional government, and has told his people here to use our court system to sue for cash awards, to further prop up his country's corrupt elite.

Nice Statue of Liberty play, but down here in the trenches, things are not that simple.
