As the death rattle of the 111th Congress approaches its rheumy end, we admit that there are some actions our lawmakers have taken that do not displease us. (Why we are talking like Queen Victoria, we do not know.)

We are happy that a tax deal that enriched everybody from the ultra-deserving middle class to the scoundrel rich also will continue benefits to the unemployed. We are pleased with the end of “don’t ask, don’t tellâ€

Since Congress refuses to enforce current laws, why would they enforce new laws like this? They won't. Use common sense.

When this rock-paper-scissors game got started several years ago I remember Bill Richardson saying that for every 10-foot fence there was a twelve foot ladder. Who increased the fence height?

And besides, for every wave of illegal immigrants there is a wave of Americans willing to volunteer their time guarding the border. 10-foot fence or 50-foot fence...

I think the one thing going through a "death rattle" is Roger Simon's brain and its lack of common sense.

Wth is he smoking???? If they're stopped at the border, they'd nevr make it the to the "workplace" or the welfare office, ER, or all the other freebie centers. I say stop em at the border, catch em at the workplace, the schools, anytime they apply for any handouts, the hospitals, schools and DEPORT!!!

    I DEMAND ENFORCEMENT NOW!!!!

I'm so impressed by the "Flowery skills" of the author! He could probably write about feces and make "the aroma sweet."

As far as I know, there is no statute of limitations on violating immigration laws. Find them and send them home. Demagnetize this great nation - no more jobs, no more birthright citizenship, no more welfare benefits and, like Mexico, forbid non-citizens from participating in our politican processes.
