MEChA Working to Create Aztlan

By Sher Zieve – The radical group MEChA (Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan) is working hard to bring the mythical nation of Aztlan into reality. Chapters of the group are growing amongst Hispanics on University and high school campuses.

MECha's plan is to retake or "reconquer" (via its "reconquista" movement) the American Southwest. The Jawa Report lists the group’s philosophy and goals, which include:

--We are Chicanas and Chicanos of Aztlán reclaiming the land of our birth (Chicana/Chicano Nation)

--Aztlán belongs to indigenous people, who are sovereign and not subject to a foreign culture

--We are a union of free pueblos forming a bronze (Chicana/Chicano) Nation

--Chicano nationalism, as the key to mobilization and organization, is the common denominator to bring consensus to the Chicana/Chicano Movement

--Cultural values strengthen our identity as La Familia de La Raza and

--EPA, as a basic plan of Chicana/Chicano liberation, sought the formation of an independent national political party that would represent the sentiments of the Chicana/Chicano community.

They can say whatever they want. Its our job to get them out of here by forcing our Government to protect this country from invasions foreign and domestic. That is more than a job description, it is a mandate and they took an oath saying they would do this. Failing to do so is criminal and while this is still America, there is a remedy called Impeachment.

Our Government is fueling these kinds of antagonistic statements from these trespassers and invaders by pretending that they are so concerned and compassionate. Bush always says

They are just hard working people or they are decent people.

Yeah, we all are hard working and decent.

When I see these kinds of statements that are provacative, I send them to my Senators, so they cannot say they didn't know.

I wish we could get the money to put up billboards with these inflammatory statements, so that all could see that these people only want to provoke a war. This is not about Aztlan, its about the Mexican government dumping their unwanted citizens over here and to cover it up the Mexican Government's stooges over here are brainwashing these kids with Aztlan folklore.

The Mexican Government must take some responsibility and we can't let that get swept under a rug. Bush never mentions what the Mexican Government is going to do to stop this stampede. The illegal immigrants never say anything about how the Mexican Government left them to live like pigs and if they didn't like it they could risk life crossing the border.


The saddest thing is if the Southwest U.S. was Mexico, how would their lives be any better. The U.S. Companies would then be doing business in Mexico and the pay scale would reflect that. What U.S. Company with a chance to lower wages by 50-60% would continue to pay U.S. wages.

The illegal immigrants would then be legal, but at the same time, they would be subject to the same rule of Government they jump the border to get away from.

I think the thing that really irritates me concerning Aztlan is that it is such a lie! There is nothing historical about it. It is an utter fabrication. The Aztecs never ruled or lived in North America. They insult our own Native american tribes when they say that their half breed race of mestizo ruled parts of America. One of the ironies about this is that part of their belief is that they want to send back to Europe those of European descent. THEY are of European descent! They have half Spanish!
There actually ARE full blood Native American tribes in North America --- but they are NOT Mexican.
They have flunked history. Aztlan is not history. It is a hoax. And it is a hoax that promotes hatred of all others except for their own kind. And they are not interested in learning that what they believe is not true. They would rather live in ignorance and believe the lie as it gives them the feeling of being "superior" to other races and gives them a sense of entitlement. What a shame.
