Re: Who's Afraid of a Little Competition?

    Dear Editor,

I am not afraid of a little health care competition. However, until the incredible flow of both legal and illegal immigrants quadrupled into America, our health care was not only adequate, it was affordable and it far surpassed the rest of the world with regards to quality of care received.

Before we look at new health care cost ‘fixes’, shouldn’t we examine the original source of the problem? The problem being, taxpayers pay for their own health care plus the care of legal and illegal immigrants who are the majority of our “uninsured population.

Just as retail consumers pay for their own store purchases as well as pay for the’ unauthorized’, i.e. shoplifted items, we pay for’ unauthorized’ and authorized residents who cannot support themselves, despite that being a immigration requirement. These costs are merely tacked on to our own health care costs. Absolute confirmation of the saying “Pass the Buck. Please note the Census Bureau statistics on health care coverage and lack of.

Only we lowly Americans represent us....as long as we pay the bills, our government is very happy with the current state of affairs.
