HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) - A former Hutchinson man who disappeared 20 years ago before going on trial for a fatal traffic accident was arrested this week re-entering the country.

Border patrol agents said they took 41-year-old Miguel R. Rangel Zubia of Chihuahua, Mexico, into custody Tuesday.

A fingerprint check linked him to an outstanding warrant for aggravated vehicular homicide.

Officials say Rangel Zubia was attempting to enter the country at El Paso, Texas.

Reno County District Attorney Keith Schroeder said Miguel Rangel was behind the wheel early New Year's Day 1988 when he crossed a center median and struck a tree, killing a passenger.

Rangel Zubia was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide.

Reports indicated alcohol and excessive speed contributed to the accident.
