    Officers raid El Paisano Restaurant

    HERALD STAFF REPORT

About 60 law enforcement officers from local and federal agencies converged on El Paisano Restaurant, 5803 15th St. E., late Thursday in attempt to serve six warrants.

Two of the warrants were for suspected street gang members, and the other four are related to an attempted homicide at the restaurant last month, officials said.

Federal customs and immigration officials could be seen processing people being led out of the restaurant. Officials said those were patrons who were not carrying identification.

Also at the scene were officers from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office and Bradenton Police Department.

The police operation began at about 11:20 p.m.
