Two illegal immigrants from Mexico who were living in Mesa are being held without bond after being charged with identity theft-related offenses involving the manufacturing of fake IDs, authorities said Friday.

Isaac Abraham Santana-Rios, 36, and Francisco Javier Espinoza-Hernandez, 31, have been charged with identity theft offenses including trafficking in the identity of another and criminal possession of a forgery device, the Arizona Attorney General’s Office said in a statement.

Earlier this month, investigators executed a search warrant at Santa-Rios’ residence and confiscated a computer, camera, printer and scanner and an ink stamp displaying a Mexican government emblem and card stock commonly used to produce fake Social Security cards.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a hold, or detainer, on each man.
