Mexican legislators worry about their repatriated citizens

Mexican legislators worry about their citizens repatriated due to Arizona illegal hiring law

From our "Irony on the Border" file comes this:

A delegation of nine state legislators from Sonora traveled to Tucson to make the case against Arizona's new employer sanctions law,

The lawmakers say it will have a devastating affect on the Mexican state.

At a news conference Tuesday, they said Sonora cannot handle the demand for housing, jobs and schools it will face as illegal Mexican workers in Arizona return to their hometowns without jobs or money...

"How can they pass a law like this?" asked Mexican Rep. Leticia Amparano Gamez, who represents Nogales. "There is not one person living in Sonora who does not have a friend or relative working in Arizona," Amparano said in Spanish...
They apparently met on Wednesday with AZ state Hispanic legislators, but no names are given.

Mexico is afraid of a revolution. Illegal immigrants coming over here has been a pressure release valve there for years.

Hmmmmm.....all of a sudden there is an awful lot of desire to remain anonymous in matters concerning illegal aliens isn't there?

Not so long ago these unnamed Hispanic legislators would've called a massive press conference to appear with their Sonoran friends and denounce the horrific hardship imposed on all of Mexico by the racist and xenophobic population of AZ.

    Wonder what happened?

I agree if the Mexican Gov. does not start helping the poor and work to provide jobs for them there will be trouble as there should be.

Mexico's present thinking seems to be"We will not encourage our citizens to use Birth Controll even if they can't afford to take care of their children properly, we'll just ship them off to the USA to take care of since we certainly will not be held responsible for our own citizens".

So as long as they can beat their "Americans Are Racist" drum loud enough the spotlight is diverted from the real problem.....for awhile at least but truth is like a pregnant woman and can only be hidden for awhile.

If we get a democrat in the whitehouse and they make supreme court appointments with liberal judges that will stop all deportations and open the border-I am not happy with republican canidates accept hunter and thompson but I think they are done.

    I love that expression.

Revolution? Those illegals who have lived in this country have a taste of a better way of life and may be more inclined to revolt than before. Look out Mexico.

I think you're right. Hunter's my man, but I probably won't get the chance to support him. The news "pundits" are suggesting that Thompson says he's out after South Carolina, but they're anticipating him throwing his support to McCain. What's up with that?

What burns me up, is that although we were complaining about the same thing, they turned into a racial thing, just to get their way. Now, they don't want their own people back. So, its no longer about race, I guess.
