Governor Cancels Contract with Poultry Plant

Missouri Governor Matt Blunt is barring a Butterfield poultry processing plant from doing any future business with the state.

Immigration agents entered George's Processing plant yesterday morning, arresting 100 suspected illegal aliens.

The operation is part of an ongoing federal probe into identity theft, social security fraud, and a variety of immigration-related violations.

The company has not been charged with any wrongdoing.

Following Tuesday's immigration sweep, Blunt signed an order ending state contracts with George's.

In March, Blunt also canceled the state's contract with a janitorial service after law enforcement identified illegal immigrants working there with falsified documents.
