Illegal Alien Arrested in Wiregrass

An illegal alien was arrested in the Wiregrass for possession of marijuana.

Officials say Ricardo Santos Gamez was taken into custody after Dothan vice officers and canine units tracked a suspicious package to Gamez's address.

The canine alerted positive to the presence of an odor of a narcotic in the package. After a search warrant was obtained...police found about 24 pounds of marijuana in the package. Police now say Gamez is an illegal alien from Mexico and has no legal reason for being in the u-s.

Gamez is being held in the dale county jail.
