Committee meeting on immigration cases on tap for tomorrow

August 2nd, 2007 · posted by dbunis
That showdown on three bills that would give legal status to three illegal immigrants who were brought to the United States as children is set for tomorrow in the House immigration subcommittee.

The three cases are all situations that would be covered under the DREAM Act. But so far there’s no indication that the DREAM Act, which would allow undocumented children going to college to get-state tuition and then work legally, is going anywhere in Congress anytime soon so I wouldn’t be surprised if more of these private bills are introduced.

But Republicans on the subcommittee oppose them so there could be some fireworks tomorrow.

We’ll let you know, meanwhile go hereto learn more about the DREAM Act.
