Crackdown rounds up five alleged war criminals

In little more than a week, Canadian authorities have rounded up five suspected war criminals from a list of 30, complete with photos, released by the federal Conservative government.

Even Public Safety Minister Vic Toews has been taken aback by the response to his public appeal he made on July 20 to help track down these suspects who had simply disappeared off the radar. There have been 115 calls to the Canada Border Services Agency’s snitch line.

“I think this reassures new Canadians as well as all Canadians that we take the issue of citizenship and the appropriateness of behaviour on an international level very seriously,â€
