Mex official:anti-Mex discrimination up,areas fewer migrants
Mexican official says anti-Mexican discrimination up in US in areas with fewer migrants
09/01/09 4:40 PM PDT
MEXICO CITY — A Mexican official says discrimination against Mexicans in the United States is growing and is most pronounced in areas where immigration is relatively new.
Director of Consular Affairs and Protection Daniel Hernandez says that "where we are seeing the most complex, hard and deep-seated discrimination is in areas where immigration is new, where there may be fewer Mexicans."
Hernandez says "precisely because there are fewer Mexicans, the discrimination is tougher," although he did not cite specific examples or causes for the trend in a talk Friday.
He says there appears to be less discrimination in areas like Texas or California, with long-standing Mexican immigrant communities. Almost 12 million Mexicans live in the United States.

The only thing that gives it away is the statement " Almost 12 million Mexicans live in the United States." We all know 12 million is the code for illegal aliens.

There will always be resentful feelings toward ILLEGAL ALIENS. That wont ever go away. I really dont think that any LEGAL immigrants from Mexico who obey our laws, learn our language, and have something to contribute to our country such as work, will receive any discriminating feelings from most people.
Does the Mexican official who says discrimination is growing ever consider that maybe the Mexican people are doing something wrong? Maybe they are standoffish and divide themselves from us, or dont want to obey our laws, learn English or fit into society. Maybe THEY dont like us.RIP Butterbean! We miss you and hope you are well in heaven.-- Your ALIPAC friends
