Republican Sen. Ted Cruz blasted a pair of Senate immigration bills that would grant amnesty for young people who entered the country illegally as a “profound mistake.”

“Mark my words: if Republicans majorities in Congress pass citizenship for millions of people and amnesty, I think it is quite likely we will lose both house of Congress and Speaker Nancy Pelosi will impeach President Trump,” Cruz said on “Fox & Friends.”

The White House has urged support for one of the bills from Sen. Chuck Grassley, which would provide a path to citizenship for 1.8 million young illegal immigrants in exchange for more spending on border security, an end to chain migration and the visa lottery system.

“I can tell you the American people don’t want amnesty,” he said later.

“We want the border secure. You know what we ought to be doing? We ought to be passing thing like Kate’s law, which I introduced.

Kate’s law says that violent felons who repeatedly enter the country illegally should face a mandatory prison sentence. That’s common-sense legislation.”

“Overwhelming majority of Americans agree with that. If we had passed Kate’s law, that beautiful young woman, Kate Steinle would not have been murdered on the pier in California by a repeat violent criminal who had been in and out of prison deported repeatedly.”

“It is a profound mistake for Republicans to be granting amnesty and a path to citizenship for millions of people here illegally. Correct. Americans do not want amnesty or legalization of any kind for any reason for any illegal alien. We want them all deported.

I don't remember exactly for what ,but during the presidential elections, but we had bash on Ted Cruz, I happy. He has recovered a good way.

Cruz supported and promoted the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement that would have cost Americans hundreds if not thousands of manufacturing plants and millions of jobs.

He testified before the US Senate in support of legalization amnesty for 30 million illegal aliens in 2013.

He lied about his support for legalization amnesty in a Presidential Primary Debate in 2015.

He led the effort to terminate the Export-Import Bank that forced Boeing to build its first plant ever in another country in 2015, a monster facility in China that American workers will now be competing with forever.

That's why some of us bashed Ted Cruz.

They all flip flop on these issues.

I hope they are finally seeing the light that we need to enforce our laws, end illegal immigration and send these DACA home to their countries.

We need to end birthright citizenship and cut off all freebies including medical and school.

Only proposals they should be discussing is the one THEIR country has prepared to take their citizens back!

We are not the solution to the World's problems...time for them to put THIER policies in force to take care of their own people. We do not want them here! We do not want to foot the bill for them. They have land, they have resources...send them BACK!

Exactly. If any Congress EVER ONCE showed the same concern for US citizens as it has shown to illegal aliens for the past 30 years, we would not have $21 trillion of debt with absolutely nothing to show for it except more of the same.

Republicans in Congress, you listen and you listen good, we've had it with this mantra of pity for illegal aliens, we don't want to hear it, we don't want to see it, we don't want to suffer from it, and we sure as hell don't want to pay for it. You think you can swoon us into pitying these people we want out of our country? You are wrong. You think you can pressure us to accept them as legal workers to steal our jobs? You are wrong. You think you can cancel our votes with illegal aliens on a path to citizenship? You are wrong.

So you need to decide right here, right now whether you're going to work for the cartels behind illegal immigration like the DemoQuacks or the American Citizens who elected you. Because that's the line. Pick a side. Pick wrong, and you will pay.

It was mostly Judy doing the bashing because she was an avid Trump supporter and viewed Cruz as Trump's enemy (competition). There was also one or two others, but Judy was the most aggressive.

Yes, I was and so happy to have done so, raising the issue of why was I the only one? We have a person who supported amnesty and too few care? Someone who supported free trade treason, someone who ran Boeing off to China .... and based on your revelation the other day, you voted for him in the primary, MW. I find that very very strange.

By the way, have you seen the latest on the FBI? Not only did they get the YouTube tip 6 months ago, they got a detailed tip on their hotline on January 5th, name, address, gun ownership, threatening to shoot up a school, and the FBI refused to follow up. Statement was released a few minutes ago by the FBI and reported by CNN. CNN of course is "just stunned", "just stunned" by the FBI admission by Chris Wray himself. The FBI is corrupt to the core.

You were the primary Cruz basher. You just couldn't stand the thought of Trump losing the primary to Cruz. Ted Cruz was never really an amnesty supporter and he certainly never supported a path to citizenship for illegal aliens ..... never happened.

What you're referring to is the amendment Ted Cruz submitted to the gang of eight bill that would have allowed illegals a path to legalization, but not citizenship. That amendment has been described over and over again as a poison pill designed to kill the gang of eight bill. Cruz knew his amendment would effectively kill the bill if it passed because the Democrats would accept nothing less than actual citizenship. Nice spin, Judy, but it didn't work then and it won't work now. Cruz was against amnesty then as he is today. He has been, unlike Trump, very consistent on that.

Getting rid of the Export-Import Bank was the right thing to do. The bank was nothing more than corporate charity at the expense of the American taxpayer!
