Immigration officer charged with harboring migrant

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer was charged Friday with harboring an undocumented immigrant who had been renting a room from him for the past five years, authorities said.

Sherrod Russell, 48, a supervisory detention and deportation officer, was also charged with making false statements to federal investigators, according to an indictment.

Russell, of South Miami-Dade, is accused of shielding the foreign national in a residential property owned by the defendant. The indictment says he knew the immigrant had entered and remained in the United States illegally, but that he lied to investigators to conceal this fact.

Look at the law breaker... cannot trust those with the responsibility to do the immigration jobs needing to be done.

Any bets on whether or not the illegal was female?

Business as usual for a gov. official. We now have leaders at the highest levels of gov. who have cheated on their taxes and knowingly employed illegal aliens. Why should we expect lower level officials to act any better?
