UPPER THUMB — Federal officials are remaining mum about a visit U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents made to two different dairy operations this week in Huron County.

“On Wednesday, special agents with ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations executed federal search warrants at Parisville Dairy LLC and Dunganstown Dairy LLC as part of an on-going criminal investigation,” stated Khaalid Walls, ICE public affairs officer. “Because this investigation is ongoing, we would not be able to elaborate.”

Huron County Sheriff Kelly J. Hanson said his office assisted federal agents at the scene, but he didn’t want to comment on the situation because his agency didn’t coordinate the activities.

He did note, however, that the local sheriff’s office has been to the Parisville Dairy operation in the past in regard to illegal immigrants.

Parisville Dairy is located at 3657 Parisville Road, Ruth. Dunganstown Dairy is located at 5301 Dodge Road, Cass City.
