Not only is the pc thing ridiculous, its not safe. If a customer doesn't know how to order without an ingredient that they may be allergic to, then they shouldn't be served. ALSO, will he have to have an interpreter for EVERY language that comes to his counter? For every person visiting the city? That will have to be enforced for EVERY business in that city. Do you think those council persons and persons on that commission will get to keep their jobs?

this is part of my email to them:
Dear Commissioners:
I have a question for you? If you require a business person to speak or have a translator for one foreign language, isn't that discrimination? Will each business within the district have to have translators for every language of persons visiting the city? Will the city reimburse my business for the translators salaries? If one business is made to have translators, then ALL WILL have to be made to comply. I'm against that. If someone can't tell a food service which ingredient to keep out of their order in English, how will the cooks know in order to protect their health.
This hearing is really beyond me. Since when do people visiting our country and living in our country, and refuse to assimilate, dictate to this city, and country how to do business. It's time to get rid of this political correctness and get back to a country of respects for the AMERICAN citizen.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Shop owner testifies in beef over 'Speak English' signs
ASSOCIATED PRESS
December 15, 2007
PHILADELPHIA – A small sign that asked customers to order in English at a famous cheesesteak shop was never meant to be offensive, the shop's owner testified Friday at a hearing to decide whether the policy was discriminatory.
Joe Vento, the owner of Geno's Steaks, defended his policy before the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations, which filed the discrimination complaint.

The above statement from the commission makes absolutely NO sense whatsoever. What costumers of "certain" backgrounds are so lazy or retarded they can't be bothered to make an ATTEMPT at ordering in English?
If these customers of certain backgrounds could not be successful in their OWN countries speaking their OWN language that they just HAD to sneak in illegally, what possible chances of survival do they hope to have here?!?!
I brought friends from Africa to Geno's last summer and even the ones who did NOT speak ANY English were able to order in English! The looks on their faces when the Geno's employees gave them the thumbs up for trying was PRICELESS!Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

I saw him interviewed today. The commission has DROPPED the discrimination part of it because they had no proof of anyone being denied service. When the charges were dropped one of the commissioners changed and added a charge which is against the law. The commission is in trouble. If I were him, I'd sue them. He also said, "this is only second time since the commission formed that they themselves brought up charges against a company." Sounds really like some people are in the pockets of some other people.
