The Houston chapter of the NAACP is calling for an end to what they say have been violent threats against LULAC.

It said the threats stem from a local radio talk show, following the death of a Houston police officer, allegedly at the hands of an illegal immigrant.

Tuesday that officer’s widow stood with LULAC.

“Please stop the violence” said Jocelyn Johnson, Officer Rodney Johnson’s widow. "It's not going to resolve anything. It's not going to bring him back. All it does is divide our city and our people. I don't want it. My family doesn't want it and Rodney wouldn't want it."

Officer Johnson was killed Thursday while trying to arrest Juan Leonardo Quintero.

Authorities said that even though Quintero was handcuffed in back of a patrol car, he managed to pull a concealed weapon and shoot Johnson four times.

After listening to calls made to LULAC, the FBI has decided not to open a formal investigation, but to continue monitoring the situation.
