Senior U.S. District Judge Leon Jordan on Thursday sentenced Aron Herrera-Juarez to prison and eventual deportation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Helen Smith said Herrera-Juarez ran a bogus document mill in upper East Tennessee.

Attorney Russell Veldman said Herrera-Juarez came to the U.S. under a visa after his father was murdered in his homeland but allowed the visa to expire. He promised to leave the country but didn't. Veldman insisted Herrera-Juarez made and sold bogus immigration-related documents to help others.

"The overall intent wasn't to defraud the country," Veldman said. "His intent was to help his fellow man."

Jordan countered that he contributed to a growing problem in this region.

"There are too many fraudulent documents in the Hispanic community now," Jordan said.

He was doing it for free too? He should be nominated for sainthood.

The article never tells us why his father was assassinated. Makes you wonder doesn't it?
