    Lou Dobbs Tonight
    Wednesday, March 5, 2008

Last summer, Sen. John McCain was written off as having no
chance of securing the Republican presidential nomination. Last
    night he did just that.

Will it be the same story for Sen. Hillary Clinton? Pundits
said she was on the verge of demise—now the Democratic fight
looks likely to continue until summer. We’ll have all the
    latest political news. Plus:

    * The Pentagon announced last week that it would award a $100
billion Air Force contract to a European-led alliance, rather
than to longtime U.S. defense supplier Boeing. We’ll take a
look at this massive setback for Boeing and American workers.

    * Immigration experts are appearing on Capitol Hill today to
release the results of a study showing the cost of illegal
immigration on the criminal justices system in the 24 U.S.
counties bordering Mexico–more $1 billion in less than a
    decade.

    * Elected officials from Canada and Mexico are meeting with
U.S. groups today to evaluate NAFTA and develop a new trade
agenda. The conference is focusing on the promises of NAFTA
versus the reality of the trade agreement.

    * And Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke warned yesterday
that the housing crisis is not over and that lenders must do
much more to help struggling homeowners. We’ll have a closer
    look.

Lou’s new radio program, the Lou Dobbs Show, debuted Monday.
Join us weekdays from 3-6 p.m. Eastern, for a look at news and
politics aimed at independent thinkers. Check your local
listings at LouDobbsRadio.com, or listen live online.

Today, Lou will be joined by television host and author Geraldo
Rivera, who challenged Lou’s views on illegal immigration and
accused him of bigotry. He’ll also have political expert Carol
Swain and Thomas Buffenbarge, president of the Machinists and
Aerospace Workers union to discuss the Boeing snub.

Lou’s new book INDEPENDENTS DAY is now on sale in bookstores
and on Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com. In Independents Day,
Lou issues a rallying cry to American citizens eager for a
change, focusing particularly on the critical issues and
    challenges of the 2008 election.

    Check out the completely re-designed
    http://www.loudobbs.com, featuring the latest
updates on Lou’s TV and radio shows, breaking news and more.
