Beaverton police are asking for the public's help in locating a man suspected in a hit-and-run with a pedestrian late Wednesday on Southwest Sussex Street just east of Hall Boulevard.

Detective Pam Yazzolino, a Beaverton Police Department spokeswoman, said a car struck 18-year-old Kirsten Wanna at 10:13 p.m. as she walked east on Sussex, knocking her over the hood and onto the pavement.

Wanna reported that she had seen the car speed up and tried to run out of the way. She was struck on the hip and hospitalized with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Investigators think the driver was Wanna's eformer boyfriend, Vincente Santana-Roman, 45, of Tigard.

He is described as 5-foot-6 and about 165 pounds with brown eyes and buzz-cut hair. His car is a two-door red Honda from the late 1980s or early 1990s with a sunroof and flip-up headlights.

Anyone with information should call Beaverton police at 503-526-2256.
