2 suspects flee after BP shootout near Washington Camp

Two U.S. Border Patrol agents on night patrol in the Patagonia Mountains fired at two men who allegedly pointed assault rifles at them before fleeing into Mexico. No injuries were reported.

According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, on April 20 at 3:25 a.m. dispatch received a call from the U.S. Border Patrol Sonoita Station that said two agents had been involved in a “shootout.â€
