RALEIGH, N.C. Conservative activists are heading to Raleigh to rally against federal health care and pollution control legislation.

Allies with the small-government advocacy group FreedomWorks are traveling to the state capitol on Saturday for a taxpayer "March on Raleigh."

FreedomWorks regional organizer Allen Page said he hopes several thousand people will gather as a follow-up to a Sept. 12 taxpayer rally in Washington.

Page said activists are opposed to Democrats' plans to overhaul health care and impose mandatory caps on greenhouse gas emissions they argue will cause energy price hikes.

A separate rally is planned Saturday in downtown Raleigh for people opposed to immigration reform that would provide a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants.
