3 arrests made after body found in burning AZ home

Three men were arrested Sunday in the death of an illegal immigrant whose body was found Wednesday in a burning home in south Phoenix.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Lisa Allen identified the three men as 20-year-old Adan Beoanos Gonzales, 19-year-old Matthew Moreno and 24-year-old Booz Moreno.

Allen says the men allegedly beat and stabbed the victim to death and then set the house on fire.

No motive was released, and authorities have yet to release the victim's name.

PHOENIX – Three people have been arrested after a body was found when firefighters extinguished a blaze at a home in south Phoenix last Wednesday night.

Maricopa County Sheriff's spokesman Brian Lee said Sheriff's deputies, Phoenix police and fire investigators are looking into the suspicious fire that was reported near 35th Avenue and Baseline Road around 11:30 p.m.

Lee said neighbors reported hearing gun fire shortly before the fire started and firefighters found the body inside the home.

Lisa Allen with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said on Sunday that 20-year-old Adan Beoanos Gonzalea, 19-year-old Matthew Moreno, and 23-year-old Booz Moreno have been arrested in connection to the fatal house fire.

Lee said it is not known whether the victim lived at the home or if the home was vacant and the victim left there.

Allen said MCSO was an illegal immigrant and they have a tentative identification on the victim, but will not release it until it is verified.

The investigation led to the arrest of the three US citizens.
No motive has been provided but the three have confessed.

The cause of the fire is also under investigation.
