MCALLEN - Valley stores could be out thousands of dollars tonight. Two Mexican nationals are in custody in connection with the possible fraud.
The two Mexican nationals were arrested at the Pharr International Bridge. Customs officers found more than 50 fake credit cards on the couple.
Roberto Carlos Calderon and Isabel Martinez Rodriguez face charges of access device fraud. Authorities found 53 credit cards in all, as well as other documents.
U.S. Secret Service agents were called in to investigate. They examined and determined the credit cards were fake. Secret Service agents estimate a potential fraud loss of $25,000 to Valley stores.
