ICE makes immigration raids in Flagstaff

FLAGSTAFF - Agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement have made more than a dozen arrests in Flagstaff in recent days.

ICE officials say the raids began Wednesday and should wrap up Saturday. Agents are targeting non-citizens who have ignored orders to leave the country.

Officials at the Coconino County sheriff's jail say 16 people had been booked by Friday and most had already been sent to either Phoenix or Tucson to be deported.

Flagstaff police aren't taking part in the raids. The department has a policy that they will only ask immigration status of a person upon a criminal arrest.

I'm glad to hear ICE is cracking down on illegals in my neck of the woods. However, instantly there was a protest by illegals decrying victimization. One of their main argumentative tenants is that we'll pay higher prices and Americans won't do these jobs. Why is it that during the Regan/HW years a great number of college degrees were employed as janitors? I've a liberal arts degree and worked in landscaping during that period. In this failing economy, Americans will fill those jobs.

I'm applying for Mexican citizenship so I can get benefits not afforded to responsible US citizens. Also, I can act illegally and have supporters at my pity party.

We were in Flagstaff a couple of years ago and stayed at a motel that seemed to be run by people from India or Pakistan or some such area.... Geeshers. Political correctness has really messed us up.
It reminded me of flying out of Seattle and the motel was run by people of the same India/Pakistani descent.
Very troubling that we never know who is here legally or illegally.

It is all propaganda, these are the things they use to try and convince us they are building our country and we can not live with out them....if they would only give us the chance again to show them, we will be fine, other than picking our own fruits and veggies, we and our ancestors actually did build this country with out them.
