New Law Removes Spanish Drivers' Tests

Oklahoma City -- A new state law is now on the books. Drivers' tests in Spanish will no longer be available. The new law took effect November 1, 2009.

Rep. Randy Terrill, R-Moore, and State Sen, Anthony Sykes, R-Moore, authored House Bill 2252. It repeals the requirement for the Department of Public Safety to provide drivers' license tests in Spanish.

Terrill says the move will save the state thousands of dollars. He also says it will cut down on the number of illegal immigrants in the state.
