Federal Raids Turn Up Meth, Possible Illegal Immigrants in Lincoln
Members of the Lincoln/Lancaster County Drug Task Force, assisted by officers of the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, arrested two men on state drug charges. BICE is investigating to see if three others broke immigration laws.

On May 19, members of the Lincoln/Lancaster County Drug Task Force, assisted by officers of the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (BICE), executed federal search warrants at four Lincoln residences and at three garages in two Lincoln apartment complexes.

Search warrants were served at 5633 South 31st Street, Apartment #10 and garage #46; 5227 West Benton Street; 4007 North 7th Street; 720 South 19th Street, Apartment #10; and garages #’s 29 and 31 at 231 Adams Street, all in Lincoln.

As a result of the operation 27-year-old Jesus Alfredo Ortiz Menchaca was arrested on state charges of delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Menchaca had more than one pound of what investigators suspect is methamphetamine in his apartment.

38-year-old Ricardo Solis was arrested on a state charge of possession of a controlled substance - a small amount of suspected methamphetamine. As part of this operation, three other persons were taken into BICE custody for possible violations of immigration laws. This investigation is continuing.
