PROVIDENCE — Expressing concerns over how state corrections authorities will implement a federal rapid deportation program, the Rhode Island Affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union is requesting that inmates “at minimumâ€

THERE IS NO REASON FOR ILLEGALS TO HAVE AN ATTORNEY UNLESS THEY ARE CHARGED WITH A CRIMINAL OFFENSE. IF THEY ARE JUST HERE ILLEGALLY WE ARE JUST BASICALLY GOING TO SEND THEM HOME TO THEIR COUNTRY. THEY DONT NEED A LAWYER TO DEFEND THEM FROM GOING HOME.

Ditto RP! Illegal invaders have no right to counsel unless their life or liberty is at stake. Getting on a bus or plane and being shipped back to your country of orgin ( in which you are a legal citizen thereof ) does not warrant counsel. The ACLU would love to see to it that every illegal invader apprehended in an immigration raid have the right to counsel.
