Immigrants Group Blasts Anne Arundel Policy \\

The head of the immigrant advocacy group CASA de Maryland is firing back at Anne Arundel County Executive John Leopold. He issued an executive order this week requiring businesses with county contracts to file an affidavit swearing they do not employ people living in the country illegally.

CASA director Gustavo Torres says Leopold's policy is not productive.

He adds it could discriminate against Hispanics and could hurt businesses that use immigrant labor.

Torres tells The (Baltimore) Sun it is the first such order he knows of in Maryland, and he hopes it is the last.

Leopold is threatening to cancel the contracts of businesses found in violation of the policy.

He says any company already complying with federal law and not hiring illegal immigrants has nothing to worry about.

I sent him an email congratulating him on serving the best interests of the citizens of his county instead of the illegal aliens.

I called them and thanked them for there stand. the woman i talked to said they have had hundreds of calls from people thanking them and supporting them.

I just had a phone call FROM Leopold's office THANKING me for the email, thanking me for supporting him, and how much he appreciated it.

I am glad he is getting such a rapid and large response from citizens supporting him. I hope he gets a LOT MORE and I also hope he makes the response PUBLIC. That would certainly twerk some illegal's jaws and those of the pro-illegal idiots.
