La Familia Members Arrested

MICHOACAN, MEXICO - Thirty-nine members of the La Familia cartel are in custody. Mexican authorities arrested them over several days.

Authorities say it all started a week ago, a helicopter belonging to federal police came under fire in Michoacán.

Authorities started investigating. They say Friday they were involved in a gun battle with members of La Familia.

Thirty-six were taken into custody and 15 were killed.

Over the weekend another three members were arrested, bringing the total to 39.
