MISSION — A soiled white teddy bear and empty condom wrapper left at the now abandoned home on Lusby Street provide a stark reminder of what investigators believe went on there.

The nondescript structure northwest of the city served as home base for a group of teenage Honduran girls who claim they were forced into prostitution to pay off the debts they incurred when smuggled into the country.

And behind their servitude, law enforcement officials say, was a man who put them to work in his bar and for his customers.

“All three were forced to work ten hours a day, six days a week and were paid $20 per day,â€

McALLEN — A U.S. magistrate judge denied bond Wednesday to a man accused of pimping three Honduran minors to recoup money he allegedly spent smuggling them into the country.

Despite defense efforts to characterize Beleal Garcia Gonzalez as a loving father and a businessman who built up a successful nightclub after arriving from Mexico, Judge Peter Ormsby ultimately found he posed a significant flight risk and danger to the community.

“He’s alleged to have lured minor females all the way from Honduras under false pretenses and the promise of a better life, and essentially held them hostage in a bar,â€

McALLEN — A Mission bar owner has been indicted on multiple counts of conspiracy, harboring illegal immigrants and sex trafficking, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested Beleal Garcia Gonzalez, 34, last month on allegations he arranged for three Honduran minors to be smuggled into the United States to work as prostitutes in his nightclub — Bar El Paraiso, on Bentsen Palm Drive just south of 5 Mile Line, north of Palmview.

Two women — Garcia’s girlfriend and a bartender at his club — also face charges in the indictment handed down Tuesday. If convicted of conspiracy or harboring illegal immigrants, the women could each face up to 10 years in prison and $250,000 in fines. Garcia faces up to a 15-year sentence on his three additional sex trafficking counts.

“Because human traffickers prey on the most vulnerable, ICE will continue to aggressively identify and assist all victims … and apprehend and present for prosecution those allegedly responsible,â€

Why does this country allow any foreign nationals to own a buisness that requires a liquor license?
You cannot dedicate yourself to America unless you become in every
respect and with every purpose of your will thoroughly Americans. You
cannot become thoroughly Americans if you think of yourselves in groups. President Woodrow Wilson
