Illegals cost more than they pay
    LETTER TO THE EDITOR

I’m glad Lloyd Pohl finds what I write interesting. I don’t know who’s letter he was referring to in last week’s paper. Lloyd is concerned about homeless people. I’m sure many of the homeless do deserve help. Most reports cite mental illness and drug addiction as problems they face. If Lloyd were to google “homelessâ€

If 60 percent of the increases in public school enrollment are Hispanic, this just shows that there are probably millions of illegal alien wives/girlfriends here not working; just birthing anchor kids and collecting benefits. If all the free medical, food, schooling and housing were stopped, they would self deport.

    Sharing wealth a lesser evil
    LETTER TO THE EDITOR
    by Lloyd Pohl, Perris, CA

    May 07, 2009

I grew up in Wild Horse Valley. Graduated from ghs in 1951. Now live in California but still come back home quite often.

To sort of keep up with the old home town I look at The Times on the Internet every now and then. It’s interesting to read the dribble regularly poured out by this guy named Davis. I read a letter this morning about how terrible it is to share the wealth. I wonder how much of his has been shared?

Anyway, not long after reading his letter, I was watching the Red Sox on TV. A guy came on between innings and said that on any given night there were from 6,000-7,000 homeless people on the streets of Boston. It occurred to me that that is about twice as many folks as there are in Gothenburg. I think that is way more evil than making a millionaire pay more taxes. I sure hope Mr. Davis is in that $250 grand a year class so he has to pay more taxes. I’m not. It would be nice. But, I’m not.

Got this in an email and had to save it:

Every Congressman should be made to memorize these words in order to hold office...

The late Dr. Adrian Rogers (1931 to 2005) Memphis, TN, offered the following observation several years ago and it bears great Significance today:

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the rich out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply the wealth by dividing it."
