OBAMA’S FIRST SHIPMENT OF 10,000 SYRIAN REFUGEES ARRIVE IN NEW ORLEANS

    • Powdered Wig Society has reported on Barrack Obama’s latest move to fill this country with more Muslims.

President Barack Hussein promised that he would be sending thousands of Syrian refugees to the US. Well, he is keeping that promise!

But its one of those promises that he unfortunately kept.

After the Hayride broke the exclusive story on 10,000 Syrian refugees possibly resettling in Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Metairie, it has now come to light that refugees are already coming into the New Orleans area.

Catholic Charities, which receive federal grants from U.S. Department of State/Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration, have apparently taken in two Syrian refugee families already and are expecting many more. There are approximately 180 cities in the country that are eligible to accept the 10,000 Syrian refugees.

By spreading out the 10,000 over 180 cities in the country, you can be sure a Syrian refugee will be coming to a city near you. If Europe’s troubles with the refugee population is any indication, we’ve got the beginnings of a huge ordeal on our hands, and Obama is once again to thank.

Maybe the picture isn't a fair representation of the whole 10,000, but what I'm seeing here are mostly young males.

Syrian refugees beginning to arrive in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -The flood of refugees migrating from the terror in Syria and Afghanistan has begun to have a trickle effect in the New Orleans area.

"We had served two families, we're expecting one more soon, and we do not know how many more,
but we expect more," said Martin Gutierrez of Catholic Charities, which is part of the Archidiocese of New Orleans.

Catholic Charities has targeted services for helping refugees.

"So it's a matter of uniting the families, which is something that the church really promotes, obviously. Some of them don't have relatives and we try to help them become integral parts of our communities," Gutierrez said.

But some have argued against the U.S. accepting Syrian refugees, fearing terrorists might slip through the cracks. We turned to former New Orleans FBI chief and anti-terrorism expert Jim Bernazzani for insight on whether that's a legitimate concern. Before coming to New Orleans, Bernazzani worked to ramp up the nation's anti-terror strategies after 911.

"If I was in charge of ISIL, logistically I'd take advantage of this situation and put my people in, into the United States," Bernazzani said. "Now with that said, the FBI is on top of this big time with our Joint Terrorism Task Force and we have what's called a Terrorist Screening Center that these individuals will be run through."

But make no mistake, not every refugee seeking admission to the U.S. would face such scrutiny.

"It's going to be the 18- to 45-year-old male for the most part," he said. "It's a percentage game. It's not fail-safe, but it's a percentage game."

Still, as more of the refugees take up residency in the New Orleans area, Bernazzani discourages fear.

"These are just people from another country trying to escape misery by virtue of a civil war," he said. "We had our own civil war, and so I wouldn't be worried, but I would be vigilant," he said.

As local humanitarian agencies continue to serve refugees from Syria who find their way here, "there are multiple background checks that are done on these families and it is part of our Christian faith to welcome the stranger," said Gutierrez.

How many Syrian refugees are in the New Orleans area? 13, officials say

Despite blog posts and social media rumors indicating that thousands of Syrian refugees had already arrived in the New Orleans area, the U.S. State Department reported only 14 Syrian nationals have resettled in Louisiana since Jan. 1.

The State Department's Refugee Processing Center handled three cases, settling seven refugees in Kenner, six in New Orleans and one in Baton Rouge, a spokesperson said.

Seven Syrian refugees arrived in Louisiana in April, and another resettled in June. Six more refugees arrived in November, according to processing center data.

Reports of 10,000 Syrians pouring into the New Orleans area began circulating online following the terrorist attacks in Paris Friday that left more than 129 people dead. Many, including Gov. Bobby Jindal, expressed concern about the immigration of Syrian refugees who are fleeing the violent civil war and terrorism in the Middle East and Africa.

State: 14 Syrian Refugees Resettled in Louisiana This Year

    • By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

    NEW ORLEANS — Nov 15, 2015, 9:11 PM ET

Gov. Bobby Jindal has told the White House he wants to know how many Syrian refugees have been placed in Louisiana. The Republican said he wants that and other information "in hopes that the night of horror in Paris is not duplicated here."

Jindal released his letter Saturday, a day after the Islamic State group claimed responsibility for attacks that killed 129 people and wounded 350 in Paris.

Fourteen Syrians have been resettled in Louisiana: one in Baton Rouge and the rest in New Orleans
and suburban Kenner, the State Department told WWL-TV (http://bit.ly/1PuLFY6) on Sunday.

A spokesman for President Barack Obama said Sunday that the administration is continuing with its plan to thoroughly vet and resettle up to 10,000 Syrian refuges in the United States in 2016. The State Department said they'll be spread across the country.

Jindal said he wanted to know what level of background screening was made before Syrians entered the United States.

"In light of the fact that some of those responsible for last night's attacks held Syrian passports, what additional protections and screenings will be put in place?" he asked.

He also asked whether the Terrorist Screening Center will now check out all Syrian refugees seeking to enter this country and what monitoring will be done once such refugees are in Louisiana.

"As Americans, we embolden freedom and opportunity to the rest of the world, but by opening up our borders and refusing to collaborate or share information with states, you are threatening that reality," Jindal wrote. "Mr. President, in light of these attacks on Paris and reports that one of the attackers was a refugee from Syria, it would be prudent to pause the process of refugees coming to the United States."

Both candidates for governor, Democrat John Bel Edwards and Republican U.S. Sen. David Vitter, said the Paris attacks are a reason to pause or stop such immigration.

"President Obama's ?plan to bring 10,000 Syrian refugees to the U.S. — just like his statement made a day before the Paris attacks that ISIS was 'contained' — is outrageous and irresponsible. That's exactly how at least one, maybe more of the Paris terrorists got there," Vitter said in an emailed statement. "These Syrians have already started arriving in Louisiana. That needs to stop immediately."

Authorities said a Syrian passport found near one Paris attacker had stamps from three countries along a busy migrant corridor known for lax controls. However, it was not clear whether the document was real or forged. Officials on Sunday were still trying to identify people involved in the conspiracy. They said as many as three of the seven suicide bombers were French citizens.

Edwards, like Jindal, called for a pause rather than a halt.

"In light of the recent tragedy in Paris, it's imperative for us to pause the influx of refugees flowing into our state without more information on the security measures in place," he wrote. "Gov. Jindal has requested additional information from the President on how the federal government is handling the refugees being sent to Louisiana, and I think the President has an obligation to provide answers before we move any further."

BOBBY JINDAL DEMANDS INFORMATION ABOUT OBAMA’S SYRIAN REFUGEES ENTERING NEW ORLEANS

    by DR. SUSAN BERRY
    15 Nov 2015
    730 comments

In a letter to President Barack Obama, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal demanded information about the Syrian refugees entering his state via New Orleans.

The 2016 GOP presidential contender framed his demands in the context of the terrorist attacks in Paris on Friday. He wrote:

Last week, the city of New Orleans began receiving its first wave of Syrian refugees. As with former immigration crises and federal relocation policy, Louisiana has been kept in the dark about those seeking refuge in the state. It is irresponsible and severely disconcerting to place individuals, who may have ties to ISIS, in a state without the state’s knowledge or involvement.

As Governor of Louisiana, I demand information about the Syrian refugees being placed in Louisiana in hopes that the night of horror in Paris is not duplicated here.

Jindal demanded information about whether “additional protections and screenings will be put in place,” particularly following the Paris attacks and the discovery “that some of those responsible…held Syrian passports.”

Additionally, Jindal demands to know the level of background screening conducted on the Syrian refugees, and whether “all Syrian refugees seeking relocation in the United States will now be cleared by the Terrorist Screening Center?”

Finally, Jindal expects to receive information about the level of monitoring of the refugees that will be conducted once they are placed in Louisiana.

“As Americans, we embolden freedom and opportunity to the rest of the world, but by opening up our borders and refusing to collaborate or share information with states, you are threatening that reality,” Jindal writes, telling the president “it would be prudent to pause the process of refugees coming to the United States. Authorities need to investigate what happened in Europe before this problem comes to the United States.”

According to local Fox affiliate WVUE, Martin Gutierrez, a spokesman from Catholic Charities – associated with the archdiocese of New Orleans – says his organization has served two refugee families already, but expects more.

“So it’s a matter of uniting the families, which is something that the church really promotes, obviously. Some of them don’t have relatives and we try to help them become integral parts of our communities,” Gutierrez said.

Former New Orleans FBI chief and anti-terrorism expert Jim Bernazzani was interviewed by WVUE on whether terrorists coming into the country with the Syrian refugees are a legitimate concern.

“If I was in charge of ISIL, logistically I’d take advantage of this situation and put my people in, into the United States,” Bernazzani said. “Now with that said, the FBI is on top of this big time with our Joint Terrorism Task Force and we have what’s called a Terrorist Screening Center that these individuals will be run through.”

He added, however, that not every refugee entering the United States would face the same level of scrutiny.

“It’s going to be the 18- to 45-year-old male for the most part,” he said. “It’s a percentage game… it’s a percentage game.”

This refers to prior refugees imported but just reported by a local news outlet.

Congress Learned Of Syrian Refugees Entering The U.S. Just Recently

    Kerry Picket Reporter
    11:57 AM 11/14/2015

The Obama administration did not tell Congress, until recently, that Syrian Refugees were arriving in Louisiana. According to a House Homeland Security Committee aide, Congress did not know about 13 Syrian refugees who arrived in New Orleans over the past two fiscal years until it was reported by a local news outlet 10 days ago.

This eliciting a warning from from the Committee about the lack of current intelligence regarding the refugees who are in the U.S. and those who will arrive in the future.
The Obama administration is looking to increase the number of Syrian refugees who may be admitted into the U.S. as well as speed up the process. The administration plans to do this, Reuters reports, by opening new screening outposts in Iraq and Lebanon. As of now, the administration promised to accept as many as 100,000 refugees each year by the end of 2017. The present annual cap is at 70,000.
“While all refugees are vetted against all known intelligence community holdings, the Committee is concerned that the lack of current, reliable intelligence on the ground in Syria makes it very difficult to determine with any certainty who is entering the United States. We could very well be accepting individuals connected to ISIS, al-Nusra, al-Qaeda or any one of the terror groups currently operating in Syria,” a committee aide told the Daily Caller in an e-mail.

Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul, an outspoken critic of the administration’s move to admit Syrian refugees into the United States held a committee hearing in June investigating Syrian refugee admissions.

It is unclear, however, if the Homeland Security Committee is confident that the Obama administration is keeping committee members up to date on each refugee that is admitted into the U.S.

Supporters of admitting refugees into the U.S. include Catholic organizations that supply resources and information for refugees who arrive in the United States.
“We had served two families, we’re expecting one more soon, and we do not know how many more, but we expect more,” Martin Gutierrez of Catholic Charities, which is part of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, told WVUE.
Vetting the refugees coming into the United States is nearly non-existent the FBI told Congress this summer.

We don’t have it under control,” Mr. Michael Steinback, Assistant Director for the FBI told the House Homeland Security Committee in June. “Absolutely, we’re doing the best we can. If I were to say that we had it under control, then I would say I know of every single individual traveling. I don’t. And I don’t know every person there and I don’t know everyone coming back. So it’s not even close to being under control.”

Former New Orleans FBI chief and anti-terrorism expert Jim Bernazzani told WVUE, “If I was in charge of ISIL, logistically I’d take advantage of this situation and put my people in, into the United States,” Bernazzani said. “Now with that said, the FBI is on top of this big time with our Joint Terrorism Task Force and we have what’s called a Terrorist Screening Center that these individuals will be run through.”
