    FL: Suspected Walmart molester arrested

    Suspected Walmart molester arrested

    May 11, 2011

Sarasota, Florida -- Hours after surveillance video of a suspected child molester aired on the local news, police say they have arrested that man.

Officials say Cesario Jasso-Carrizales, 39, shouldn't have even been in this country to commit his alleged crime. They say Jasso-Carrizales has been here illegally from Mexico for at least five years. He lived most of that time in the Lakeland area working construction in Polk County.

That was until about three weeks ago, when Jasso-Carrizales came Sarasota to work a construction job at the Heritage Ridge Golf and Country Club.

"As far as I'm concerned, the faster he gets out of the United States and Sarasota County, the happier I am," said Sheriff Tom Knight.

On Sunday, Knight says Jasso-Carrizales went to the Walmart on Cattleman Road where he stalked, groped and then rubbed himself against an 11-year-old girl playing video games.

His lewd behavior was caught on high resolution surveillance cameras. The wife of the construction company's owner where Jasso-Carrizales was now employed recognized his image on the evening newscast.

"Great video, great media coverage," said Sheriff Knight, "Thank you, for Channel 10 and media outlets for helping us out and he was easily recognizable to this individual who notified us and tipped us."

At the Walmart itself, there was relief from customers like Kim Ferguson, who had heard about the incident and was visiting the same store with her 10-year-old son.

"You'd like to let them play or go to the kids toy section while you shop, but you really can't, because you don't know who's gonna be in there," said Ferguson.

Investigators say Jasso-Carrizales also confessed to at least one similar act at a store in Polk County, so detectives have been in contact with their counterparts there.

They're also concerned given he amount of time he's been in the area, there may be even more victims beyond that.

"I feel certain this is a person who's done more than grope an 11-year-old girl at a Walmart," said Sheriff Knight, "And so we'd like to contact some of the other agencies get to interview him and see if they can bring some of their cases to resolution."

Sheriff Knight also contacted immigration officials to have Jasso-Carrizales deported. But how and when that works out, he says, is up to the feds and local prosecutors.

Thanks for turning him in... too bad your husband opened this poor child to this nightmare by employing him in the first place. Now the authorities know where to look for more illegals, just 'cause the wife did the right thing shouldn't disqualify the husband from being investigated!
