Immigrant farm worker gets 5 years for hitting NYSP trooper

FORT EDWARD -- An upstate New York farm worker who hit a state trooper with a pickup truck after a domestic disturbance has been sentenced to five years in prison.

Abel Jimenez of Cambridge was sentenced Thursday in Washington County Court. He pleaded guilty in April to second-degree assault. Jimenez is in the U.S. illegally and will be deported to Mexico after serving the prison time. Police were investigating reports of a domestic dispute at Jimenez' home on August 20th when Trooper J.P. Smith stopped his pickup in neighboring Easton. Authorities say Jimenez drove the truck at Smith and later abandoned the pickup. He was arrested after a nine-day manhunt. Smith suffered head and neck injuries but is back on the job.

Deport the scumbag as soon as he has served his time!!

Im real glad the trooper is ok and is back on the job.But why dont that happen when they hit the average person?You see it everyday car wrecks people killed no drvers license no insureance illegal and they let them go.If an legal American has a wreck with the same m o they are arrested for breaking the law.Something not right here.
