LAKEWOOD — Authorities have charged a township man with the brutal rape of a woman with whom he had previously lived, police said.

At about 5 a.m. Monday, Reyes Tepetl Rosas broke into the Governors Road home of a woman with whom he had a previous relationship and pulled her down the stairs before sexually assaulting her, Detective Steven Wexler said.

Tepetl Rosas, 26, whose address is listed as Governors Road, is accused of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, burglary and aggravated assault, Wexler said. Tepetl Rosas is being held in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $300,000 bail and should he raise the bail, he is to be additionally detained on an order by Immigration and Customs Enforcement to be held without bail, court documents show.

A judge also ordered that he have no contact with the victim should he be released from jail.

The victim was taken to Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood where she was treated and interviewed by Lakewood Police Detective Sherry Jones, Officer Alex Guzman and Investigators Melissa Matthews and Lindsay Woodfield of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

Matthews signed the complaint against Tepetl Rosas.
